A model can be shared with a person, downloaded as a file, or exported as 3D geometry for another program. This lesson does all three.
Share with a person
- On the Models page, open the model's menu and choose Share model.
- Type their email address and choose a role: Can view or Can edit.
- Click Share. The model appears for them under Shared with you — and stays in your library; nothing counts against theirs.
The same dialog lists everyone with access. Change what someone can do, or Remove access. Somebody who has not signed in with that address yet shows as Pending until they do.
A model shared for viewing opens in the editor with a View only badge: they can look, orbit and measure, and nothing they touch is saved.
Download as a file
Download at the bottom of the sidebar (or Download model on the card) saves a .lan3d file: the whole model, plan and all. Keep it as a backup, or send it to someone.
Import on the Models page brings a .lan3d file back in as a new model — the way to copy a model, or to pass one between workspaces.
Export the 3D model
Export OBJ in the same footer writes the terrain, structures and objects as an .obj file, which opens in Blender, SketchUp and most 3D tools. Textures are not included; the geometry is.
Save pictures
Both views have a Save as PNG button, and every photorealistic render can be downloaded from Saved renders. Those are the files for a client email.
That is the course
You have made a model, drawn and organised a plan, shaped the ground, built and planted on it, measured and annotated it, rendered it and shared it. Everything else in Lan3D is a deeper version of one of those.
