Render photorealistically

start here

Frame a shot in the 3D view, choose the lighting, and let the AI repaint it as a photograph that keeps your geometry.

8 min · present the site

A photorealistic render repaints the 3D view as a photograph. The geometry, layout and camera are kept; materials, planting and light are made real.

Frame the shot

  1. Click the photorealistic button (the sparkle) in the 3D view's corner. A frame appears over the view.
  2. Orbit and zoom to compose — the frame stays put while the scene moves behind it, like a viewfinder. Drag its edges or centre grip to move it, its corners to resize, and switch it landscape or portrait.
  3. Click Take photo.

Choose the settings

The dialog shows what will be sent: the captured view, with objects labelled and every ground edge measured, plus a distance map so the AI knows what stands in front of what.

  • Lighting — the time of day and weather.
  • Direction (optional) — a note for the AI: lush summer park, gravel paths, a few people for scale.
  • Aspect ratio — as framed is safest; another ratio lets the AI invent what fell outside the frame.
  • Reference photo (optional) — a real photo of the site or its surroundings, matched for setting and light.
  • Photos of this view — scene photos you marked on the plan that look at what is in shot are offered here; use or skip each.

Click Generate photorealistic image.

While it renders

Renders keep running on the server. Close the dialog and carry on working; the bell in the top bar counts the job, and its card opens the result when it is ready — usually a minute or two.

The result

The image is saved to this model's Saved renders (the gallery button in the 3D view's corner) with when it was made and the version of the model it came from, so you can restore that version later. Download saves the file; Render again re-uses the same frame with new settings.

Better renders

  • Name your shapes and objects — the labels go with the capture.
  • Texture surfaces — grass, stone and water are read from the textures.
  • Name plants on their markers, and give special objects site photos.
  • Drop scene photos around the site before rendering.
